Dubai Land Department (DLD) have announced its participation in UAE Innovation Week, held 20th-26th November under the ’UAE Innovates’ theme. DLD’s Department of Strategic Creativity and Innovation, a subdivision of the Department of Planning and Corporate Communications, will organise many events and programmes during the week in order to highlight the most important innovations carried out by DLD over the course of the year.
HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of DLD said: "As part of our commitment to the Directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, we are delighted to participate alongside other government institutions for UAE Innovation Week. This event will provide a celebration of the state-of-the-art developments that DLD has created over the whole year, in order to establish a culture of innovation at the heart of everything we do, and will serve to honour the pioneering efforts from our team."
Bin Mejren added: "The department has succeeded in creating an integrated system of innovative applications and services, many of which are unique to the UAE and the region, with global precedents achieved for many our advanced products and services. Through this participation in UAE Innovation Week we will uncover more innovations that will further Dubai’s progression, and put it on a new path of sustainable development that will contribute towards the happiness of everyone in the Emirate."
Amongst the events that have been planned, there will be a ‘formation of the Innovation Council’ for promising young DLD employees, in order to implant in them a culture of creativity, innovation and management.
DLD is also planning an ‘Innovation Breakfast - the integration of joint innovation’, to be held at the Dubai Real Estate Institute Theatre on 23rd November - the purpose of which is to work with DLD partners on innovation. This event will also include a brainstorming session with the partners to discuss challenges, solutions and opportunities, and produce recommendations for an integrated approach to joint innovation.
Bin Mejren concluded: "We are pleased to invite all partners working in the real estate sector to participate in brainstorming sessions, and propose ground-breaking ideas that will help us to develop a number of pioneering services for our customers, all aimed at ensuring their comfort and improving our performance. This initiative forms just part of our continuous efforts to achieve improvement, not only through the employment of the latest smart technologies, but also through smart applications and solutions that are specifically designed to serve our real estate market and region in general. In this way, Dubai will remain amongst the foremost destinations for real estate investment in the world”.
During Innovation Week, DLD will hold an exhibition to showcase its innovative services, which will be held on the ground floor inside DLD’s main building. Over the course of five days during the period 20th - 24th November, all of the Department’s employees and customers will be provided the opportunity to visit the exhibition and discover the latest services, with an exhibition that will include the film ‘Innovation Between Past and Present’ which will outline the evolution of Tabu’s services from paper to modern smart services.
Amongst the other initiatives that will be highlighted in the exhibition will be a ‘search by voice’ feature for the Smart Investment Map, Smart Judge application, Dubai Brokers and Smart Payment Service. The exhibition will also encompass a library of books across the key areas of creativity and innovation, as well as the virtual MBR Smart Majlis website and app, which invites the public to submit their innovative ideas.
