The Innovation Week 2016 at Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has witnessed a huge turnout from the public and RTA’s employees who were keen to participate in the events held domestically at the RTA’s Head Office or externally across Dubai emirate. The events reviewed different innovation issues including innovation in mass transit and public services. RTA lauded the Arabs and Muslims achievements in innovations made over a period of more than 10 centuries, besides shaping the future.
The domestic events held at RTA’s premises on Sunday morning, 20 November 2016 kick started by a top-rated key-note speaker John Dochinski, who delivered a lecture about the future of governments, government business, the role of modern technology in accelerating work tempo, and services upgrade, as well as excellence & innovation in service delivery.
RTA’s Innovation Week also featured lectures on innovation & visual presentations conducted by high-profile speakers from prestigious institutions worldwide. It also included panel discussions about robots, drones, and interactive educational workshops oriented towards RTA’s employees highlighting three-dimensional printing, robots and drones presented in a simple manner where the participants were able to experience these technologies on their own. The event also included the innovation cinema showing highlights of about innovation & knowledge presented by high ranking speakers & specialists, in addition to the Readers’ Club, which aims to encourage employees to read and share knowledge.
The Innovation Week's also featured the Transport Future Exhibition, a transport museum that contains some of the RTA’s innovations in transport sector, in addition to the 1000 Year of Innovation Exhibition that highlighted the key innovations made by Arabs and Muslims in their golden ages particularly those related to transport, cartography and other transport means used at that time. Hi-tech visuals such as Augmented Reality and various interactive programs & Apps were used to deliver the content better to the attendees.
RTA reiterated its keenness to continue this drive to nurture a positive and stimulating working environment for all employees, and provide them with all factors of success in innovation to realize the UAE 2021 Vision made by our wise leadership. RTA called upon employees to replace the stereotyped & traditional thinking with out-of-the-box thinking to produce creative & inspiring ideas of high value that add up to the stellar achievements of the UAE in general and Dubai in particular.
