The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with Synergy Consulting Company, has held a program comprising several lectures and workshops in the field of financial accounting based on the model of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
The event has taken place as part of RTA's strategic plans for qualifying its staffs and polishing their expertise in various fields in an effort to realize its objectives and ambitions. In this context, RTA came in the forefront of government departments across the UAE by enabling 30 of its employees obtain IFRS certifications having cleared numerous assessments held at the end of the program.
"This program is part of a series of specialist programs ensuing from the initiative: "Together for Professionalism" launched in 2011 to meet the training needs of financial employees with a view to leveraging their skills, enhancing their competency and boosting their knowledge base," said Yousef Al Rida, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector. "This program, which has been coordinated with the Human Resources & Development Department and Synergy Consulting Company, comprised several lectures and group workshops for 30 employees from the Department of Finance.
At the end of the program, employees were subjected to formal assessments of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). RTA staffs have passed these assessments and accordingly awarded IFRS certificates," confirmed Al Rida.
"The participants have been imparted with the skills needed for dealing with the latest accounting applications with the aim of nurturing a more effective & competitive job environment involving competitions with representatives from 120 countries that apply the IFRS system in their financial systems.
The move echoes RTA's strategy of uplifting the caliber of local cadres and offering them further exposure in their respective job fields, which would be rewarded with more job satisfaction & happiness. It is needless to say that RTA has long-term plans for training its employees to help realize its strategic objectives," added Al Rida.
