The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with Huawei – a leading global ICT solutions provider - has held a brainstorming session with a delegation of female students of Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in Dubai.
The session debated future innovation in digital security in coordination with the IT Section, RTA.
The move is part of RTA’s efforts to promote the culture of innovation amongst students of universities & colleges, and realize the third objective in RTA Innovation Strategy.
The session discussed a host of topics highlighted by the role of Information Security in digital innovations, and means of improving digital awareness through holding events and public forums. It was agreed to review, assess and adopt the concepts discussed to start implementation in future in the context of cooperation between the two parties provided for in the MoU recently signed.
“We, in RTA, are committed to nurture a happier & smarter experience to users and clients in the transportation sector. We would work with students of universities & colleges to step up their contribution towards realizing the vision of Dubai Government in adopting innovation & IT solutions in our projects & services with the objective of realizing our First Strategic Goal: Smart Dubai,” said Abdullah Al Madani, CEO of Corporate Technology Support Services Sector.
The session briefed students about the best security practices & expertise worldwide and the use of the latest technological techniques and tools of creative thinking that assist students generate cracking ideas for developing innovative security solutions & applications provided by the RTA to users.
It is noteworthy that the RTA had signed a MoU with Huawei Enterprise Middle East on the sideline of Gitex 2016 expressing an intent to cooperate with the company. Huawei expressed its commitment in the MoU to share global expertise about smart cities in support of RTA’s vision for enhanced, technology-driven customers experience for using public transport systems in a safe environment built on reduced cyber-attacks and minimal security threats.
