Moreover, Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri stressed that the forensic evidence and criminology science is forever advancing, in response to crime evolution and criminals devising unheard-of methods and tools to commit their crimes, which requires thinking ahead of them and advancing our tools and methodologies. This is the corner stone of solving the mystery of any criminal case with conclusive evidences based on scientific proofs.

He added: “This scientific gathering will attract prominent experts in the field of forensic evidence and criminology, in addition to specialists from reputed organizations known for cracking the hardest of cases and solving the most complicated crimes. In doing so, we aim to keep improving and to be accurate and precise when analyzing and studying criminal cases and crimes.”

For his part, Major-General Dr. Ahmad Eid Al Mansouri, Director-General of Dubai Police’s Forensic Science and Criminology Department said: “This conference is among the leading events that gathers experts from the east and the west, in an academic meeting that will highlight the various challenges facing the science of criminology. He noted that the number of members of the International Scientific Council has reached 44 international experts from around the world, who work as heads of international organizations of forensic sciences and forensic labs, from: USA, UK, Scotland, France, Germany, Australia, Austria, Portugal, the Netherlands, Ireland, Italy, Romania and South Korea, as well as scientists from the GCC and experts from the United Arab Emirates.”

Major-General Ahmad Al Mansouri assured that Dubai Police provides endless support to forensic experts, by giving them the chance to participate in international forums to facilitate the transfer of expertise, and help them to excel in solving hard cases and to reach justice by implementing the highest global standards while performing lab tests. This initiative continues with the launch of an annual conference dedicated for forensics that was named the Emirates Forensic Conference and Exhibition. This annual meeting will attract leading and prominent forensic experts and scientists to share their papers and researches, and to transfer their knowledge and expertise to their counterparts in the UAE and neighboring countries. This forum will cover a large region in the Middle East and North Africa, due to the excellent geolocation of Dubai, and its logistics and infrastructure that enable Dubai to successfully host such scientific conferences, forums and meetings.

Innovation of young scientists
Colonel 1st Expert Ahmad Mattar Al Muhairi pointed out that the scientific committee of the conference, which includes a huge list of leading forensic experts, has provided all the required support to the International Scientific Council, where they chose the best of the submitted papers to be displayed during the event, organized the workshops, and provided all the required equipment for those workshops to guarantee their success and smooth operation. They have also set aside valuable prizes for best participations in the Young Scientist Award Competition. This comes in line with the UAE’s initiative to unleash the potential of the youth and to include them in the making of the UAE’s future. The scientists’ awards will go to the best scientific paper presented in year 2016-2017, the best scientific poster presented at the conference, and the best study. Thus, the Emirates Forensic Conference is one of the first international forums that give young people the opportunity to innovate and show their skills globally.

Al Muhairi added that the event would credit all attendees, be it students, teachers, and doctors 15 accredited hours.
Commenting on the exhibition, Al Muhairi said that fact that e-crime has been on the rise calls for more innovative forensics methods and gadgets. Therefore, the event organizers sought an opportunity to share the latest technologies and patterns used in forensics.
