The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has recently held a workshop to spotlight the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Award for Innovation in Project Management (HBMAIPM) in collaboration with the Project Management Institute (PMI) – UAE Branch and in the presence of its Local members.
Ms. Laila Faridoon, Executive Director, Office of the Director-General & Chairman of RTA cum Secretary General of the HBMAIPM, said that the introductory workshop aimed at casting more light on the Award with a view to making it a global hub for project management (PM) innovators & specialists. “Our objective is to make the Award as a tool for identifying, encouraging and promoting innovations in PM. The Award also seeks to create a new horizon for an innovative breakthrough for the business sector in the Gulf region out of Dubai.”
“During the workshop, Essa Al Ali, Head of the Technical Committee of the Award, made a visual presentation, highlighting the categories of the Award, the registration process and the purse of the Award, which amounts to two million dirhams (about 550 thousand US Dollars). The presentation elaborated the categories of the Award, general terms & conditions, and registration through the website (http://www.hbmaipm.com/),” explained Laila.
“The deadline for receiving submissions for the inaugural edition of the Award is 30 June 2017, and RTA will announce winners on 20 November 2017 during the 4th Dubai International PM Forum.
“The first edition of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Award for Innovation in PM will act as a motivating platform for innovation leaders and an advanced tool for attracting creative ideas in the business & projects sector. Such innovations will be of great benefit in a world dependent on mega-economies, and Dubai is always focused on coping with these challenges,” she added.
