Emirates Post Group, EPG, has issued commemorative stamps for Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, which began on 1st December and will run until 27th January, 2018.
Giving the festival the "Zayed" name is recognition of the pivotal role of the late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in preserving the history of the UAE and the nation sources of pride for next generations in the future. The festival celebrates the cultural heritage of UAE, highlights the rich diversity of local traditions, and provides an educational platform to promote the process of cultural enlightenment, the Group said in a statement today.
Abdullah Mohammed Al Ashram, Acting CEO of EPG, said that the commemorative stamp of "Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival" serves as a documentation of the festival as stamps are means of media and cultural communication that reach different countries and peoples of the world, giving them a wide spread and historical message that is transmitted by peoples and civilizations. That issuance of the stamps also comes as an embodiment of the values, principles and traditions established by the founder of the state, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan.
Al Ashram added that Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, which is organised under the theme of "The Land of the Emirates, the Forum of Civilizations", is one of the most important heritage events in the world. The festival embodies how Sheikh Zayed was interested in the UAE and global heritages. Al Ashram explained that the Emirates Post Group participation in dating and promoting the festival locally and globally confirms the EPG’s commitment to support major national projects and initiatives.
He pointed out that the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival stamp is part of the continuous efforts of the Group to introduce the UAE and highlight the great development it has achieved in all fields.
