The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the launch of ‘Empowerment with RTA’, a 6-month training program targeting male/female Emirati graduates who have been hunting for jobs for one year since graduation to groom them for the job market. The program also aims to boost the UAE’s initiative of declaring 2017 as The Year of Giving.
Yousef Al Rida, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, said, “Empowerment with RTA program reflects RTA's keenness to support the UAE President’s initiative declaring 2017 as The Year of Giving. It is our intention to pay back to our nation through this program for qualifying Emirati male/female graduates who have completed one year after graduation without finding jobs.
“Since the launch of ‘Empowerment with RTA’ program last April, 20 graduates have joined the 6-month training program so far. Inductees will receive a nominal monthly salary as an encouragement. The program aims to groom male/female graduates for the job market by furnishing them with the knowledge & skills required through a training program undertaken by a group of RTA’s dedicated specialists who volunteered to realise the program’s mission,” he explained.
“The program will offer training to familiarise graduates with the work environment; focusing on innovation, and creative & strategic thinking. Trainees will also learn about research, job interviews skills, job application, filling job application, work ethics, and time management. They will also be acquainted with the emotional intelligence as to how to control emotions, the best way to deal with others and the best way to communicate in the work environment. The Program also gives trainees orientation about distance learning tools, English language learning, and the specialist jobs of various RTA’s sectors and agencies,” he added.
“The graduates of Empowerment with RTA program will be offered an audience with RTA’s leaders. RTA leadership will offer trainees tips & guidance to help them meet job requirements and how to optimise the experience gained from the Program.
“Empowerment with RTA program reflects RTA's keenness to fulfil its social responsibilities towards Emirati male/female graduates through helping them a two-way assistance. It can either offer them qualitative qualifications to familiarise with the requirements of the job market or recruit fresh Emirati graduates who completed ‘Edad’ Program, which aims to provide trained Emiratis to boost RTA’s development drive. These two programs reflect RTA's strategy of playing an effective role in leveraging job Emiratisation policy or grooming qualified cadres for the job market,” concluded Al Rida.
