RTA starts registration of students in ’AJYAL’ Internship Programme
(4 July 2017)

The Human Resources & Development Department at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has commenced registration of secondary school and university students in the summer training programme ‘AJYAL.’ This annual programme, which takes place in summertime, is part of RTA’s efforts to impart practical skills in Emirati students, and this year’s edition will start on 9 July and end on 31 August 2017.

"Opening the registration in AJYAL program reflects RTA’s relentless efforts to run the summer internship dedicated to Emirati students in secondary schools and universities. The aim of the programme is to foster the value of work amongst interns and fill their free time in a proper way through engaging them in practical assignments to their benefit in future," said Kawther Kazim, Executive Director of Human Resources and Development at the RTA.

“The program, which is run during 9 July – 31 August this year, offers students expertise in various topics through posting them in various RTA sectors, agencies, and departments. It will enhance the sense of responsibility among inductees, and accustom them to punctuality, attendance and respect of the institutional environment. Realising such objectives achieves the vision of our government viewing the youth as a robust & potential valuable component the community,” she noted.

“The program targets Emirati students at both secondary schools and universities, who are still enrolled as students. Participants will get monthly rewards to encourage them in the program. Specialists at the Department will hold an orientation program to give students an introduction about the RTA, the summer internship and the scholarships program of the RTA. Students will attend training courses and make field visits to key projects undertaken of late. They will also be familiarised with the use of public transport means (Ferry, Buses and Metro) as well as the achievements & services provided by the RTA, and efforts to promote RTA’s corporate image in the community,” concluded the Executive Director of Human Resources and Development.
