The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently received a delegation from the General Resources Authority of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) to acquaint them with the best practices adopted by RTA in training & qualifying drivers. Discussions also covered the management of the relationship with driver training institutes along with the manuals, policies and indicators governing this aspect. Such a briefing is part of RTA’s policy to share expertise with various government entities in Dubai and the UAE.
“The visit of RAK’s General Resources Authority delegation was prompted by the excellent accumulated experience of the RTA in training and qualifying drivers. The gathering started with a visual presentation about the Organizational Charts of the RTA, Licensing Agency as well as Drivers Training & Qualification Department,” said Arif Al Malik, Director of Drivers Training and Qualification, Licensing Agency, RTA.
The visiting delegation, which included Adel Al Ghaidh, Vice Chairman of General Resources Authority and several officials, was briefed on the evolution of driving learning, the number & geographical distribution of training institutes, and manuals & policies governing the business conduct. The orientation also covered the types and demand for various driver licenses, and the flow chart of drivers training & qualification process starting from file opening till the issuance of driver license. The presentation also touched on the roles of the concerned departments of the Licensing Agency in supervising driving institutes, licensing conditions of institutes and the key aspects of partners’ relations management.
At the end of the visit, RAK’s delegation commended the rich experience of the RTA in training and qualification of drivers. Visitors praised the results of the visit and pledged to benefit from the experience and business model of the RTA; which is aligned with the highest standards and state-of-the-art techniques.
