The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has awarded a contract for constructing entry to the Culture Village from the Sheikh Rashid Street costing AED14.87 million in collaboration with Dubai Properties Group.
Eng. Maitha bin Adai, CEO of Traffic & Roads Agency, RTA, said, “The project aims to link the Culture Village with the surrounding roads network at Al Jaddaf through providing additional entry and exit points in the area. The project is intended to enhance the safety of road users, and ease the traffic congestion on Al Khail Road where the area is witnessing a significant rise in the number of heavy vehicles coupled with growing infrastructural works of projects and buildings in the surrounds.
“A one-lane entry and exit point will be constructed at Sheikh Rashid Street before Al Garhoud Bridge in the direction of Deira. Project works include lighting as well as shifting and protecting the existing utility lines. The project is set for completion during the first quarter of next year. It is part of a host of projects planned and endorsed for easting the traffic flow in line with RTA’s strategic objectives and goals,” added Maitha.
