UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has bestowed the ‘Order of Zayed’ on China's President Xi Jinping in recognition of his role and efforts in supporting the development of close bilateral cooperation between China and the UAE in various aspects.
On behalf of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan presented UAE's highest civil decoration to the Chinese President Xi Jinping in presence of Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The honour, named after the UAE's Founding Father, is rarely bestowed and reserved for the country's most esteemed partners among heads of state around the world.
President Xi Jinping expressed his appreciation for the medal that bears the name of a humanitarian icon who gained the respect of nations by establishing a civilised state and extending bridges of friendship, cooperation, and peace with other countries.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said that bestowing the ‘Order of Zayed’ on President Xi Jinping comes in recognition of the strong historical ties with the People’s Republic of China and the bilateral cooperation on all aspects.
In his note on the VIP Visitors Register book at the Presidential Palace, President Xi Jinping expressed pleasure with the visit. He also wished further development of bilateral relations between China and the UAE and continued prosperity to the people of the UAE.
President Xi Jinping presented a signed copy of his book ‘The Governance of China’ (translated into Arabic) to the His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
On his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed presented China’s President Xi Jinping with an Arabian purebred horse as a gift during the reception at the Presidential Palace.
