Dubai Customs Inks Support Agreement With Friends Of Cancer Patients Society
(3 June 2018)

Director of Dubai Customs Ahmed Mahboob Musabih and Sawsan Jafar, Chairperson of Friends of Cancer Patients Society signed a strategic agreement. The agreement will see Dubai Customs support the FoCP’s efforts and activities including awareness campaigns and donations.

“We are happy to have signed this agreement which comes in line with the values and principles of the Year of Zayed 2018. It is also part of our inherent commitment towards our society. We support societies and charities in different sectors including education, health and environment. Dubai Customs carried out 162 initiatives that targeted more than a million people”.

From Dubai Customs, Abdullah Mohammed Al Khaja, Executive Director of Clients Management Division in Dubai Customs, Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department in Dubai Customs, and General Director of Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP) Dr. Sawsan Abdulsalam were present during the signing.

Dubai Customs, as agreed, will coordinate with FoCP to launch a series of awareness programs around cancer, and to support “Hair for Hope” initiative which aims to collect hair and provide a sense of normality to those whose lives have been turned upside down.

The agreement will include organization of campaigns to collect gifts and toys for children with cancer and pass on the Ramadan spirit.

“We, at FoCP, believe facing cancer is a shared responsibility. All private and government sector organizations should take part of the responsibility. This is what urges us to build coherent partnerships following the directives of Her Highness Shaikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, the Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs. Signing this agreement with Dubai Customs falls within this context. With this agreement we are confident we will be able to launch more programs and initiatives that will have its positive impact on patients, survivors and families”.
