Youth Council at the Community Development Authority in Dubai (CDA) announced today in a press conference held at Emirates Towers, the development plan for the second edition of “Their Suhour On Us” initiative, launched last Ramadan to distribute Suhour meals to labors and needy people in Dubai.
The Youth Council said that the great success of last year edition helped attracting 22 sponsors and partners from the government and private sector to support this year edition. The initiative will kick off at the beginning of Holy Month and will last until the 28th of it. Smart Dubai will provide diamond sponsorship for the initiative. Meals will be distributed every night at Al Quoz Mosque, the Youth Council and the volunteers will be also visiting 7 more mosques in Diera and Bur Dubai during the month distributing the meals for 5-6 days in each of them. On the sideline of this tour, DHA youth council will provide free medical checkup for laborers. Maeed Bin Saud Al Mualla Charity Foundation will also distribute "Their Suhour On Us" meals at two mosques in Um Al Quwain.
CDA’s Youth Council aims to distribute 32 thousand meals this Ramadan, 1000 volunteer will be working hand in hand to achieve this, among them will be volunteers from PWD. Khalfan Hablel, the UAE inventor, developed a drone to help PWD distributing meals at the locations.
The Youth Council announced that the locations that they will be visiting during Ramadan include: Sheikha Latifa small Mosque in Jafiliya, Qortoba Mosque in Satwa, Abd Al-Rahim Katit mosques in Al-Quoz and in Muhsina 4, Yacoub Mosque in Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, Aqeel Abbas Mosque in Worsan 1 and the Fulad Mosque in Rashidiya.
Union Co-op, Barclays Bank, du and Aswaq provide platinum sponsorship to “Their Suhour On Us”, Symphony provides golden sponsorship and Al Abbar Jewelery is a silver sponsor of the initiative.
During his welcoming speech, HE Ahmed Julfar honored the sponsors and the partners of the initiative, stressing that their support will significantly contribute in achieving the initiative goals and reaching the largest possible segment of beneficiaries. He pointed out that every members of the society as well as every institution are responsible, each from his position, for the sustainable community development that will be enjoyed by the future generations.
“During last Ramadan, CDA Youth Council managed to organize the initiative and to achieve great results, the initiative attracted large numbers of volunteers and many institutions to participate in it. I assume that the great enthusiasm and the success achieved by the initiative will make it an annual platform to do good in the month of good”, he said.
“Coming Ramadan, the initiative will take new dimensions, it will be bigger, more organized and provides several sponsorship and partnership packages that allow any private or government entity to support it the way they prefer. This year we also have pre-registered 1000 volunteers and volunteers from PWD which convey a message that everyone can contribute to the society in some way”, he concluded
