The Community Development Authority in Dubai (CDA), inaugurated today the first Community Youth Council (CYC) a mutual initiatives launched in collaboration with the communities’ Civil Organizations licensed at CDA.
The council, will be the first multicultural youth platform to engage youth across different nationalities living cohesively in Dubai in social and development programs, reflecting the leadership’s vision of encouraging every youth to be able to participate in Dubai’s future planning, by empowering and enhancing their roles into the development of our community.
Establishing the Community Youth Council took a lot of strategic decisions in collaboration with different civil organizations that started with interviewing the right candidates and identifying the talents to contribute their valuable time in participating and promoting the objectives of the Community Youth Council platform.
CYC will be a platform to share knowledge and skills and to exchange innovative ideas with other youth councils, enabling every youth to express their creative thoughts and to be part of sustaining the society happiness.
“His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, the Ruler of Dubai drew a clear direction for the country’s future, relying on youth as a main resource for the development sustainability”, said Dr. Omar Al Muthanna, CEO - Licensing & Monitoring Sector- CDA. “Aligned with his Highness vision CDA strived to gather youth across different backgrounds and interests to contribute to the leadership vision and decision-making for the future of Dubai.”.
During a ceremony held in the Youth Hub in Emirates Towers, Al Muthanna said that establishing the Community Youth Council, is a long term plan for empowering youth and utilizing their great energy, “
“Launching the Community Youth Council is a very important addition to our strategic plans, it will have Resonating impact and we are quite confident it will make a difference.”, Al Muthanna added.
The CYC is expected to be an effective tool to develop social cohesion among different communities and nationalities living in Dubai. Members will work hand in hand with CDA youth council to spread awareness for the whole community in Dubai about all the issues that concerns the society. In additional to exchanging knowledge and ideas, it will help benefitting from the youth talents in Dubai citizens and increasing volunteering work.
