HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), welcomed Karl-Heinz Schlögelbauer, Vice President of Business Development at Andritz Hydro, the Austrian company specialising in hydraulic power generation. The meeting was held at DEWA’s Head Office.
Al Tayer welcomed Schlögelbauer, and stated that these meetings are part of DEWA’s commitment to share best international experiences and expertise with power and water companies. DEWA works to upgrade its services to advanced levels to become a global role model and meet the Emirate’s needs. DEWA has developed its model for electricity and water services at the highest levels of performance, efficiency, productivity, and excellence, to meet the highest international standards and achieve stakeholders’ happiness.
Al Tayer reviewed DEWA’s programmes, initiatives and projects which aim to achieve the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership. DEWA is working to enhance its infrastructure and total production capacity, which currently is 10,200MW of electricity and 470 million imperial gallons (MIGD) of desalinated water per day.
Al Tayer was briefed on Andritz’s services in the UAE. Schlögelbauer expressed interest in participating in DEWA’s projects, since Andritz Hydro is a leading global supplier of electromechanical systems and services for hydropower plants.
