Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the leading international financial hub and destination for lifestyle, arts and culture has launched a UAE-wide competition that aims to attract local talent and homegrown brands to setup presence in the Design Emporium which is in the South Zone of Gate Avenue at DIFC.
Design thinkers, creators, makers, and opportunity takers who are UAE residents are encouraged to join the competition by submitting their unique concepts of new or existing brands to win the opportunity of joining Gate Avenue at DIFC.

Through this competition, we aim to attract inspiring local brands to enrich the retail and lifestyle offering at Gate Avenue and showcase creativity to DIFC’s growing community. The competition is only one element of our greater promise to support the development of human capital in the region. We look forward to seeing promising local concepts flourish at Gate Avenue.”
The competition will run from Monday 26 February to Sunday 8 April, and the names of the five winners will be announced on Tuesday 1 May. The winners will be granted the opportunity to either set up a kiosk in the indoor public space or within a retail space called the Design Emporium, with reduced business set-up fees and discounted rental costs for the first three years.
Spanning across 660,000 square feet of built up area and 880 metres in total length, Gate Avenue at DIFC, the new premium urban retail, leisure and cultural development at the heart of the Centre, will link the podium levels of all buildings located in DIFC, from the Gate Building to Central Park Towers. Upon completion, the flagship development is set to enhance the DIFC’s position as a first-of-its kind destination with over 200 dining, boutique, retail and entertainment options, as well as the-state-of-art mosque.
