Foodies across the city have spoken, and Dubai’s favourite food secrets have now been revealed in the lead up to Dubai Food Festival 2018. As part of the city’s culinary celebration set to begin on 22 February, residents and visitors alike are invited to experience these Hidden Gems through daily value meals during the festival.
The top 10 Hidden Gems were found through an online voting process that allowed the public to pick their choices from among 35 shortlisted lesser-known restaurants and cafes in the city, that offer value-for-money dining options. The 10 undiscovered culinary hotspots also showcase the wealth of authentic flavours from across the world, available in Dubai. Throughout Dubai Food Festival, these top 10 restaurants are set to offer a one-day only special deal, where diners can enjoy a two-course meal for only AED 25 per person.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO, Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of Dubai Tourism said: “Dubai Hidden Gems has become an integral part of Dubai Food Festival as it promotes smaller restaurant choices that provide big flavours with excellent value. We’re pleased to see such a diverse list of Hidden Gems this year and encourage residents and visitors to explore these culinary concepts and relish Dubai’s vibrant food scene.”

Smat Café & Restaurant (Emirati)
Set in a traditional Arabian setting, Smat Café & Restaurant offers traditional Emirati recipes that have been passed on through generations. It is located at Al Barajeel Oasis Complex, Uptown Mirdiff.
Chai and Co. (Emirati)
Enjoy an out-of-the-pot experience with piping hot Karak tea and mouthwatering Emirati bites at this café in Al Warqa.
Fish Hut (Asian Seafood)
From seasonal King Fish and Hammour to Tiger Prawns and Calamari, indulge in continental seafood dishes created to suit all tastes. Fish Hut is located at Oud Metha.
