Dubai Chamber achieves 100% smart transformation of core services
(8 October 2017)

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced that it has achieved 100% smart transformation of core services that are provided to its members and the local business community.

The announcement was made during GITEX Technology Week 2017, where the Chamber is exhibiting and showcasing its wide range of smart services that are accessible through its website and smart applications. These services cover membership, online payments, ATA Carnets and Certificates of Origin, legal, mediation, research, licensing, credit reporting, CSR Label, and letters of recommendation, in addition to many others.

H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO, Dubai Chamber, said: “The Chamber was an early adopter of smart services that have been designed around the needs of businesses in Dubai. Our recent achievement of 100% smart transformation of core services supports the Chamber's commitment to improving ease of doing business in the emirate and creating a more intelligent business community.”

Dubai Chamber’s President and CEO explained that adopting smart services was a key part of the Chamber’s customer-focused strategy, which enabled it to deliver time-saving and value-added services to its members. He noted that these services enhance the competitiveness of Dubai’s business community and help attract foreign companies that are keen to set up in the emirate.

He stressed the importance of Dubai Chamber's participation in the GITEX Technology Week 2017, and described the exhibition as an ideal platform to connect with the local business community and encourage companies to take advantage of its smart services and solutions, which can help them work smarter.

Dubai Chamber is in the process of launching an innovative initiative that will enable customers to receive documents without having to visit its service centres. In addition, the non-profit public organisation is looking at new ways it can make its services more flexible in meeting its customer needs outside of working hours.

Dubai Chamber’s range of smart applications includes its Mobile Services app, a one-stop shop that enables Dubai Chamber members to process requests for electronic Certificates of Origin and ATA Carnets, make online payments for documentation, services and events, search the commercial directory, and access credit rating and information services.

In addition, the Chamber’s Smart Mediation app includes value-added features that allow users to settle business disputes in a cost-effective, efficient and amicable manner, track new and previous applications, and receive status update reports. These solutions are designed to enhance the customer experience and help companies conduct business in an efficient manner with the aim of making Dubai one of the smartest cities in the world.
