Mercedes-benz DETOUR 2012
A one-of-a-kind motor sports event open to a wide community, spanning over United Emirates and challenging the brains and wits of all contestants is set to take place this 9th November 2012 between 07:00-16:00. Mercedes -benz DETOUR 2012 is a race without speeding. Teams of two in their own or rented Mercedes-benz will be tested for their navigation skills, time calculations. They will face challenging mental en-route activities & fun physical activities at pit–stops, follow given route instructions, search for hidden clues and calculate the precise time they have to reach each pit-stop. The average speed given plus additional time to complete pit-stop challenges will ensure that no one is speeding. PROGRAM - Briefing - 7:00am to 8:00am - DETOUR Road Challenge - 8:00am to 1:30pm - Brunch & Entertainment - 1:30pm to 5:00pm Race Details - Teams will be provided with tulip charts containing directions, time & speed limits. - Hunt is divided into six legs, with activities en-route and at four DETOUR pit-stops. - Teams have to calculate the exact arrival time at each of the six pit-stops and at the finishing line. - All charts to be endorsed by DETOUR marshals. - Arriving early or late at the pit-stops will cost team penalty points. - All activity sheets with answers & charts must be legibly written and handed over in the activity envelope at the finish marshal in order to get the final time endorsed.
