Arabic Language Skills Key For Climbing The Career Ladder, Says Leading Training Institute
American Education Center will underscore the importance of language development when it showcases a newly launched Arabic Crash Course at the country’s leading education and training exhibition next month. In response to overwhelming demand from UAE consumers and students, the Abu Dhabi based training institute will highlight the popular crash course at NAJAH Education, Training and Careers Fair, taking place from 16-18 October at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. As one of more than 65 educational organisations and institutions participating at the three-day event, the American Education Center developed the 10-hour intensive course as a unique product in the UAE to spark renewed interest for the language, giving groups, individuals and corporate clients a competitive edge in the workplace and a better cultural understanding of the country in which they live. The new programme follows the launch of the Arabic Language Charter from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in April 2012, designed to revive Arabic as “the language of science and technology”. Natasa Kazmer, General Manger, American Education Center said: “Our Arabic Crash Course is a truly unique product which became hugely popular from the day we introduced it. It is the perfect option for individuals, groups, or corporates who don’t know where to start when learning Arabic, and students can communicate in Arabic immediately after the first class.” Khurram Saeed, NAJAH Exhibition Director added: “The Arabic language is synonymous with the UAE’s cultural identity and goes hand in hand with the economic development and recovery we are seeing throughout the country and the Middle East region. It is essential that this is front of mind in order for students to gain access to better education and career opportunities.” Established in 1980, the American Education Center is one of the UAE capital’s most respected language-teaching institutes. The center further incorporates workplace vocational learning as well as stand-alone training programmes on leadership and communications. “We are not providing a one-stop shop here,” added Kazmer. “We want to give our students the confidence to use a new language while bettering their own potential as an individual, whether that is for the office or in day-to-day life.” “When it comes to being in a corporate environment, we want to look at engaging the individual in the nuances of their niche, for example we offer specialised language training in HR, marketing, administration and finance, so as to enable them to use it to their advantage when it comes to the crunch.” Now in its sixth edition, NAJAH is working with institutions such as the American Education Center to bring vocational training to the forefront as more prospects open for school-leavers in the UAE in the process of deciding the next step in their career. According to recent analysis from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, technically-skilled students are needed to fill roles that are fundamental to local infrastructure, especially in trade, tourism, logistics and retail. NAJAH is sponsored by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), Al Hosn University, Ajman University of Science and Technology, and Berkley Middle East and is supported by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, Abu Dhabi Education Council, and Emirates Nationals Development Programme (ENDP). The three-day event returns with the popular psychometric assessment centre, along with the advice clinic where visitors will receive one-on-one counselling on education and careers options by qualified Emirati career counsellors.
