Dubai Global Leaders Series and Powering AI Sessions at Middle East Energy Spotlight Global Leadership and Energy Infrastructure
The Dubai Global Leaders Series at Middle East Energy brought together prominent leaders for an exclusive roundtable exploring policy, investment and Dubai’s role as a hub for international business and innovation.
Hosted by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and inD, the organisers of Middle East Energy, the series featured five global experts and leaders from organisations such as the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), US Department of Energy, Centre for Economic Security, and Mitsubishi Power.
“The challenge today is not about the cost of the technologies, but it's about how can we make an environment that allows capital to work in favor of the deployment of renewable energies,” said Patricia Espinoza, Founding Partner & CEO, onepoint5; former Executive Secretary, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
Also at Middle East Energy today, the Powering AI stream commenced. These sessions discussed how AI acceleration has triggered unprecedented data center expansion worldwide, necessitating investments in back up power, grid modernisation, and energy-efficient technologies. During her speech Eng. Mozah Alnuaimi, Chief AI Officer, UAE Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure said, "The real question is how do we build an energy system intelligent enough to power the AI economy and an AI economy efficient enough to strengthen our energy system. If we get this right, the Middle East will not simply consume the next generation of technology. It will be one of the places where intelligent, sustainable energy systems are designed, demonstrated, and scaled.”
