Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Aster DM Healthcare Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) whereby the Group will supply digital medical devices to bus stations & depots of RTA. These self-use devices, which will be provided free of charge, will enable drivers, employees and clients to monitor their health & physical condition. The step is part of efforts to realise RTA’s strategic goals namely (People Happiness) and (Advance RTA).
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of Public Transport Agency, signed for RTA and Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, signed for the Group. The signing took place at the premises of Public Transport Agency T Muhaisina 4, in the presence of several officials from both parties.
“The signing of this MoU is part of RTA’s strategy to nurture a healthy and sustainable environment for employees and customers. Aster DM Healthcare Group will supply Public Transport Agency with advanced medical devices enabling drivers to monitor their health condition through self-use devices,” said Bahrozyan.
“The step will boost road safety & the safety of riders, enable employees to work more efficiently, and contribute to RTA’s vision (Safe and Smooth Transport for All). Enabling clients to benefit from these devices also serves RTA’s strategic objectives. The Public Transport Agency will list the stations in which these devices will be provided on a trial run, and will be generalised later on after reviewing the initial results,” he added.
“Aster DM Healthcare Group is proud to partner with RTA in applying innovation to the management of health standards of RTA employees and clients. Our cooperation will involve the use of the latest digital testing & monitoring technologies,” said Moopen.
“Under the MoU, healthcare stations will be provided to assist bus drivers to keep track of their health details such as the pulse, pressure, diabetes and metabolism before the start of the working day. Tests will be self-conducted without any assistance. This proactive test is intended to ensure drivers are healthy and fit to drive passengers.
“These fully automated health stations are also available for the public at bus stations to carry out the tests. It will enhance their awareness about diseases like hypertension, diabetes, and obesity,” he added.
