The 26th Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships was once again a resounding success with capacity crowds, scintillating action, and entertainment second to none both on and off the court.
During the fortnight of hard-court action, tennis fans and visitors were offered a chance to drive home a brand new Audi A3 Saloon Sport car in the Guess ‘N’ Win promotion, which is one of the many activities and promotions that took place at the Tennis Village during the tournament.
When the ball count was made by officials on Sunday, 4th March, the brand new Audi A3 Saloon Sport car held a total of 4,359 tennis balls. Although there were no precise predictions entered this time around, as per the rules, the person whose guess was the closest won the prize.
Mr. Fleuriel Jean-Francois, a 45 year old French national, who guessed 4,365 balls, never thought that his first visit to watch the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships would result in him winning a brand new car.. Mr. Jean-Francois had travelled from France along with his family to watch the tournament for the first time and thought he would try his luck with the “Guess & Win Promotion”.
Mr. Jean-Francois, who works as a ramp supervisor for Air France couldn’t believe his luck and commented, “It was our third time to visit Dubai but our first to watch the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. I only bought one “Guess & Win” ticket and randomly wrote the numbers that first came into my mind without thinking that I might won this car. Thank you so much Dubai Duty Free!”
The Ball Count competition has been a part of the tennis tournament since it began in 1993 and this is the sixth time that the car has been won.
The ball count was conducted in the presence of Finance officials from Dubai Duty Free and Ms. Crystal Coelho, Audi Marketing Executive of Al Nabooda Automobiles.
Al Nabooda Automobiles, the sole distributor of Audi in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, was a sponsor of the world class tennis tournament once again this year with all of the tennis players being chauffeured in a fleet of Audi Q7’s.
