(5 April 2017)
DLD receives 150 nominations in 21 categories from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar

Dubai Land Department (DLD) has announced that the closing ceremony of the Gulf Real Estate Awards 2017 will take place on Monday 17 April in Safinah Ballroom at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel from 7am -10 pm. The department confirmed that it had received 150 nominations in 21 categories from four GCC countries – the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar – by the submission deadline on 14 February 2017.

His Excellency Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department, commented: "This award was inspired by the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and his vision to further innovation and establish Dubai as the capital of innovation in the real estate sector across the region. The Gulf Real Estate Awards have attracted 150 nominations from leading companies across various real estate related fields."

The high turnout from regional companies to compete in the awards programme demonstrates the credibility, integrity and positive image of Dubai Land Department throughout the region. The awards programme, which is aligned with DLD’s vision to establish Dubai as the world's ideal destination for innovation, confidence and happiness, is expected to position DLD as a leader in all real estate areas, specifically encouraging innovation in the sector and stimulating the adoption of best practices that will lead to sustainable growth across the GCC region.

Mahmoud Al Burai, Executive Director of Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI) – the educational arm of Dubai Land Department and the company responsible for the organisation of the awards – commented: "The Gulf Real Estate Awards are based on a number of criteria and key points, including planning, implementation, and results. Following the closure of nominations, the process of screening and evaluation was initiated by a specialized committee of leading experts in the real estate field. The awards programme helps to drive innovation in this sector and stimulate the creativity and excellence of real estate companies to compete and improve their services and projects to achieve sustainable growth."

Dubai Land Department has established a set of goals for the launch of the Gulf Real Estate Awards, which in particular aim to reward and recognise the GCC’s best real estate companies. The launch of the awards programme represents yet another milestone in Dubai’s successful journey to becoming a leading destination for global awards across various sectors.

Before closing submissions on 14 February, the Gulf Real Estate Awards were open to any real estate company, whether private or public. The awards programme includes a wide range of 21 categories that allow any ambitious company to present its success story, including real estate developers, brokerage and facility management companies, engineering and legal services, and contractors and consultants.

Dubai Real Estate Institute “DREI”, the educational arm of the Dubai Land Department, has reached an agreement with ‘International Awards’ on the sidelines of Cityscape Global 2016, to launch the awards programme targeting all real estate companies in the Gulf region.
