Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for cultural, arts and heritage, has shown its support to environmental protection efforts, by donating 100 used units to the Digital Devices Refurbishment Center of Dubai Municipality.
This project aims to refurbish the used devices of Dubai Culture and supports Dubai's vision to enjoy a clean and healthy environment in all its elements and ensures its sustainability in the long-term, reducing operational costs and address the environmental challenges of industrial, commercial and service activities. It also highlights the importance of recycling and rehabilitation efforts, especially since they can be used for long periods of time after they are sent to charity centers which supports the community development.
Mohamed Al Hammadi, Director of Information Technology Department at Dubai Culture: “The project furthers the Authority’s efforts to support the ‘Year of Giving 2017’ initiative in addition to reducing the risk of e-waste, which could have a lasting impact for many years. This initiative seeks to promote the objectives of community service and also achieve sustainable development in the Emirate, through environmental, social and economic dimensions.”
Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the Emirate’s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that take place throughout the year. This Authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures through enriching initiatives that benefit the Emirate’s citizens, residents and visitors.
