The UAE’s leading banking group, Emirates NBD marked the 46th UAE National Day with festivities to unite the country’s diverse community.
Leading up to National Day, the bank has created a creative Snapchat National lens allowing UAE residents to renew their oath. Residents can scan a unique Snapchat code deployed in prominent locations in the UAE including sixty-eight Emirates NBD branches from Mirdif to City Walk and The Dubai Mall, to unlock the lens and select a male or female profile in traditional Emirati attire to personalise their experience. The lens then lets users renew their oath by teleprompting the oath text. Since its launch about two weeks ago, the Emirates NBD Oath Renewal lens has been scanned over 14,000 times, including by Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Emirates NBD and local community influencers such as news and media anchor Mahira Abdelaziz @mahiraaabdelaziz; athlete Walid Yari @walidyari; and Ali Aljassmii @aljassmii.
The bank also hosted the Emirates NBD Unity Run this week to promote diversity and the social inclusion of people with disabilities (people of determination) in the UAE, and help transform Dubai into a disability-friendly city by 2020.
Commenting on the occasion, Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Emirates NBD said, “Emirates NBD is proud to celebrate the forty-sixth UAE National Day. As a homegrown bank, we have always aligned our business model and corporate values to those of the UAE government, and under the progressive leadership and wise guidance of our founding fathers and rulers, have grown side-by-side with the UAE, to become a global leader and innovator in financial services. We would like to wish all our customers, stakeholders, partners, and the entire community a happy National Day and take the occasion to celebrate the spirit of diversity and unity that binds us all together.”
For staff and management, Emirates NBD organised special ceremonies honouring those employees who have served in the National Service. The events included traditional Emirati artistes such as Ayallah dancers and national drummers, and took place at the bank’s headquarters in Deira as well as its corporate office in Meydan.
In addition to the bank’s branches being decorated in the UAE national colours, Emirates NBD offices across the region as well as branches marked the occasion as a symbolic gesture of international cooperation.
