NIGHTMUSIC is the music-for-events agency, based in Dubai since 2010 and directed by William Gibbs, the British saxophonist and for seven years band leader on Spain’s legendary TV arts show LO MAS PLUS. After obtaining a BA Honours degree in music at the University of Sussex and working in London theatre for five years, William Gibbs moved to Madrid where he has worked for twenty years as composer, arranger and musician. His work on CANAL PLUS Television involved accompanying singers and musicians such as Phil Collins, Tom Jones, Mark Knopfler, Maceo Parker, Celia Cruz & Grammy winner Jorge Drexler with his band which achieved cult status. William has also performed and recorded with the top Spanish acts as well as with musicians from the USA, Canada, Brazil, Cuba, Argentina, Portugal, Germany, Holland, France, Italy and Eastern Europe.
In addition, William worked for nine years as an orchestral instructor at the British Council School, the only one of its kind in the world. His saxophone method Improvisation and Musicianship for the Jazz, Blues and Soul Saxophonist became a best seller for the renowned USA publisher Mel Bay. He has also added the role of TV presenter to his wide range of activities, co-fronting the multilingual news programme News Without Frontiers for 7 years. The ground-breaking show won the Coca Cola Foundation award for best TV Journalism in 2001 as well as eight other media awards, which included a personal meeting with His Royal Highness Juan Carlos, King of Spain.
