The Emirati government has invested many of its sources and technologies in the infrastructure constructing of its ports. That paid off significantly since the country is now considered a hub for seaports and an attraction for traders. In other words, the development of The UAE’s and Dubai’s ports in the past years has played a great role in the growth and the economic prosperity of the country.

Mina Rashid Port
Located in Dubai, Mina Rashid Port is the city’s first commercial port and is named after Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Since 2018 Mina Rashid started to serve as a seafront coastal destination and attracted a lot of tourists and residents. Mina Rashed was also named the most prominent luxury port in the Middle East and granted the Security Certificate of Excellence by International Maritime Security.
Port of Mina Zayed
Named after the UAE’s founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Port of Mina Zayed is situated in Abu Dhabi and is the main and most important seaport in the UAE’s capital. Mina Zayed is one of the biggest seaports in Abu Dhabi with the capacity to hold up to 10 oceangoing vessels at once, which makes it of great significance in the maritime industry.
Port of Jebel Ali
The busiest and largest man-made harbor in the world, Port of Jebel Ali, was opened in 1979 to support Mina Rashid which was incapable of handling the growing number of cargo ships. Many would refer to the Port of Jebel Ali as the gateway of the country, as it enables the exporting and importing of goods across the region and the world.
With an annual of 21.1 million containers capacity, the Port of Jebel Ali holds the title of the 9th largest container port in the world. It also encompasses General Cargo Terminal Facility in addition to a Container Terminal.
In 2011 Port of Jebel Ali was granted the award of the Golden Award for Best Seaport Overall from the Higher Committee for UAE Civil Seaports and Airports Security.
Mina Khalid
Located on one of the important trading routes to the Indian Ocean, Mina Khalid in Sharjah is one of the most prominent seaports in the region featuring the first container terminal, roll-on/roll-off cargo terminal, and free trade terminal. Mina Khalid is meant to serve the Sharjah Airport Free Zone and Al Hamriyah Free Zone.
The port offers modern storage facilities designed to handle all sorts of goods. Such facilities include cold stores, reefer storage zones, and bulk cargo holding areas.
Port of Khor Fakkan
This Sharjah port is one of the region's important cargo hubs. It is located on the Indian Ocean coast and is in close distance to the Straits of Hormuz. Port of Khor Fakkan is considered one of the largest transshipment ports in the region and the world, and it serves ships crossing the East-West route via the Indian Ocean.
