DHC licensed healthcare providers can now operate in DMCC
Healthcare providers registered with Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) can now operate in Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, between Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) and the DMCC. The agreement aims to define cooperation mechanisms between the two parties, said the DHCA, which is the governing body of the DHCC free zone.
Khalid Ahmed Al Sheikh Al Shamsi, CEO of DHCA and Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman of the DMCC signed the agreement in the presence of senior officials from both sides.
Commenting on the importance of the agreement, Al Shamsi said, "This partnership is part of DHCA’s vision to develop a world-class healthcare system that meets the changing demands of the UAE population. We are constantly working to extend our renowned healthcare standards to different communities in Dubai as part of our efforts in achieving the Dubai Plan 2021 objective to create a ‘City of Happy, Creative and Empowered people’, whose residents are educated, cultured and healthy."
The DMCC was established in 2002 as a strategic initiative of the Government of Dubai with a mandate to provide the physical, market and financial infrastructure required to set up and operate a thriving commodities marketplace. It has more than 13,000 member companies with 87,500 workers and residents from over 170 countries.
Bin Sulayem said, "At DMCC we actively seek out partnerships with Dubai Government entities such as DHCA as our combined efforts ultimately enhance the Dubai experience for everyone to benefit from. The MoU we signed today, gives DHCA licensed medical clinics, practitioners, healthcare facilities the opportunity to operate in our free zone to provide healthcare services that will in turn benefit our community of over 87,500 people. We look forward to this collaboration with DHCA which will no doubt provide our free zone community with more choice, and access to a diverse range of services right on their doorstep."
