Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development (MBRPLD), Initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, is an innovative leadership program designed to develop future national leaders capable of promoting the sustainable development of Dubai.The objectives of this program are to:
Ensure long-term systemized leadership development across the Government.
Provide a comprehensive approach to developing leaders at all levels.
Secure a systematic approach to sustainable flow of leaders and successors.
Increase retention of high potential staff.
Leverage existing foundations and experience in leadership development.
Empower the Dubai Government to successfully implement the Dubai Strategic Plan (DSP) 2015.
Integrated Approach to Leadership Development:
Program participants are identified through the Dubai Government, the EDAAD scholarship program or / and an open application process. All applicants undergo a stringent screening, selection and validation process, including full assessment for program admission.
The total duration of the integrated leadership program is 13 years. However, there is a ‘fast track’ option for exceptional leaders that can be completed in eight years alleviating the practical experience segments.
Program Structure:
The MBRPLD focuses on four key areas of development, which vary depending on the specific level of the participants. Each module is designed to ensure progressive learning throughout the integrated model with no repetition between modules:
1. Personal Development – focuses on personal growth and development, career development, coaching, mentoring and action planning.
2. Technical Knowledge – focuses on functional (job-related) training.
3. Management Acumen – focuses on management skills such as financial management, project management, marketing, business and people skills.
4. Leadership – focuses on developing leadership competencies at a personal and organizational level.
Program Methodology:
A wide variety of innovative delivery methods are used to enhance the learning experience of each participant. These methods include:

» Rolling Thunder: a training technique relying on unlimited creative thinking and positive attitude of the participants to work across boundaries, adapting to constant changes encountered in the work environment.
» Music Metaphors: an “Orchestra Metaphor” training technique discusses and addresses the performance tactics of individuals and groups in dynamic organizations, which aims to maximize the performance and set the goals in developing the spirit of teams and improving the individual performance by reaching the zenith of their profession. It also allows the participants to understand key strategies, clarifying performance objectives and enhancing team building.
» Theatre: an unconventional and unique technique utilizing the knack of acting to qualify the participants to gain incentive and creative leadership skills.
» Creativity Cafe: a new well prepared group discussion technique, discusses the social life through raising various issues among the groups, to allow the participants contribute and express their own views on the presented issues.
» Building Bridges: a group workshop aims to teach the participants how to provide and initiate an innovative and creative work environment for project team members, which requires diligence performance to find alternative solutions to superiorly and successfully implement the roles and responsibilities. Most significantly, it focuses on the mindset of creating the right environment to help others succeed.
