FREEJ FOLKLORE
FREEJ FOLKLORE, is a show that celebrates Arab traditions, culture and heritage and is a breathtaking combination of dance, music, animation and theatre that presents the audience with a magnificent celebration of Arab culture and history.FREEJ FOLKLORE uses a theatrical tableau of fantasy and reality, fused together, to truly engage its audience.
FREEJ FOLKLORE is a journey that takes the audience between times from the present to the past and back again to bring to light the myths and legends from the Arab world’s literature and history. The performance, comprised of seven acts, forms a path to discovering great historical figures such as Ibn Battuta and unique traditions such as pearl diving.
LAMMTARA FZ-LLC, creator and producer of the pioneering, award-winning TV show FREEJ and JBM FZ-LLC are the Co producers of FREEJ FOLKLORE and it will be an official Dubai Shopping Festival 2009 event and will be a nine-day run. Together with JBM, LAMMTARA wants to redefine the theatre in the Arab world the same way it redefined the television with FREEJ.
"FREEJ FOLKLORE is a mix of live, virtual, animation, film, light and acrobatic performance" said Benjamin Monie, executive producer of FREEJ FOLKLORE and co-founder and co-managing director of JBM, "with a team over 350 people, we are combining state-of-the-art technology, the best global talents and astonishing choreography to present the Arab myths and legends through a unique fusion of theatrical elements."
FREEJ FOLKLORE will b e staged at the Madinat Jumeirah Arena for nine days starting from the 8th January, for 19 shows, eight of which are in English and eleven in Arabic.
