Creek Art Fair
The Creek Art Fair (CAF) takes place from 15 March to 21 March in 20 houses of Bastakiya, the historical district of Dubai. Running in parallel to Art Dubai and the Dubai World Cup, the CAF focuses on new and emerging talents.The opening reception of the Creek Art Fair will be held on Saturday 15 March at 7pm in Bastakiya’s outdoor auditorium. The reception will be an occasion to visit all the galleries exhibitions.
The creek art fair starts from the 16th march and ends on 31st March 2008. Painter and Musician Reza Derakshani will perform on the tar, sehtar, ney and kamancheh .
The CAF is Dubai’s only fringe art fair and aims to provide a new platform for artistic expression. It draws attention to young and innovative artistic talents.
One of the highlights of this year’s Fair is Alef Magazine’s first art show in collaboration with XVA and Phillips de Pury & Company, the world’s leading contemporary auction house for which this event will represent the first foray into the Dubai art market.
A Color Match Tournament is held which will be carried out prior to the Creek Art Fair will be displayed through poster printouts.
Creek Art Fair is officially supported by Dubai Cultural Council and The role of the Dubai Cultural Council is to facilitate the realization of this vision.
