The Emirates Environmental Group
The Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) is a voluntary, non-government organization (NGO) devoted to protecting the environment through the means of education, action programs and community involvement. The organization is open to men and women of all nationalities.The Group is actively encouraged by concerned local and federal government agencies.
EEG is the first environmental NGO in the world to be accredited with the ISO 14001 certification for its environment management system.
The EEG started in September 1991 and has since grown considerably in members. The group has more than 1200 names on the mailing list which includes individual and corporate members, federal and local government agencies, universities, colleges and schools, as well as reputed international institutions.
Some of the aims & objectives are:
To contribute positively to the advancement of sustainable development in Dubai and UAE by acting as a focal point for people of all nationalities and ages concerned with environment protection and sound waste management.
To assist concerned authorities where possible to increase the level of public awareness on all local and global environmental issues.
To promote positive environmental action by individuals, which is achieved through the work of specific project groups within the main Group.
