The World Expo is a gathering of countries from all over the world to showcase their unique products and craftsmanship to the rest of the world as well as to share information about their countries. Thailand’s ministry of digital economy and society is preparing to showcase at the World Expo 2020 Dubai with its exhibition title of “Thailand Pavilion” for the duration of 6 months from October 2021 to March 2022. Thailand is aiming to demonstrate its potential for digital technology to the rest of the world through the Thailand Pavilion with the concept of “Mobility for the Future”. With 140 years of participation experience in World Expos, Thailand is confident that the international exhibition will enhance its image of tourism, attract foreign investment, create joint ventures between Thailand local companies and foreign ones and encourage international trade especially exports. This is also a great opportunity for Thailand to emphasize its huge potential for business in near future by establishing an investment base in both industrial and agricultural sectors of Thailand.
According to the representative of the ministry - Dr. Pichet, the main objective of the exhibition is to show the best side of Thailand in digital technology to garner recognition and to promote Thailand as the potential leader in digital technology in SEA. Thailand’s goal is to attract 1.7 million visitors to its pavilion which is about 7% of the total visitors for national branding and to show to people from around the world a new Thailand as the hub of digital development apart from their colorful culture and natural resources.
The World Expo 2020 Dubai will be the stage for Thailand to shine as a digitally developed country that can connect everyone to anywhere in Southeast Asia. This international exhibition is considered as the largest exhibition in the world after the Olympics and the World Cup. The World Expo attracts more than 25 million visitors from all over the world each year.
