| Artisans of the Emirates – was founded in 2005 by Miriam Walsh a feltmaker, and Paul Townsend a silversmith. Both experienced artisans and long-term residents of Dubai. Miriam and Paul wanted to showcase their work alongside other quality local artisans.
The monthly ARTE soukhs have become renowned for UAE-based artists & artisans to display their varied skills – hence the name of the group. In 2007 ARTE will be moving to Al Ghazal Mall on the corner of Al Wasl Road and Al Diyafa Street. The emphasis is on high quality and individuality, with members representing over 25 countries, the variety on offer is impressive. The soukhs will continue to be on the 2nd Friday of every month with the first one on Friday 9th February from12:00 to 17:00 hrs. |
